Why NCBA shares have been suspended from trading on NSE

Trading in NCBA Group shares on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) have been suspended until November 2 to allow reconciliation of the share register ahead of their transfer to South Africa’s Nedbank.

This follows the closure of a deal that saw Nedbank acquire a 66% stake in NCBA.

The transfer will be executed through the NSE’s Block Trade Board on November 3, with settlement of Nedbank shares and dispatch of cash payments to NCBA shareholders also beginning that day.
