Pastor Dorcas to dignify street children, drug addicts

The Spouse of the Deputy President Pastor Dorcas Rigathi spent the better part of Friday afternoon feeding drug addicts who are on the road to reform in Nairobi’s Eastlands at PEFA Church Donholm.

During the feeding programme Pastor Dorcas promised to sponsor several university drop-outs back to school as well as ensure those without skills are put under vocational training institutions.

“These arethe future of this nation and nobody should look down on them. They have abright future and we must safeguard their tomorrow,” she said.

Pastor Dorcas also took time to encourage them citing her story of rising up from Kiandutu slums in Thika to where she is now.

“Nasitawacha kuwapenda,hata mchome namna gani,kwa sababu mimi ni mama.Na mamahawezi achilia mmoja kwa sababu amepotea. (I will not stop loving you regardlessof your status, because I am a mother. A mother cannot neglect one because theyare lost),” she said.

She calledon the youth to stop drugs as she seeks to dignify their future.

Her office is running a de-addiction programme that will target such youth as well as those in the streets.
