Standard Investment Bank’s MansaX funds have secured internationally recognised securities identifiers from the Nairobi Securities Exchange, a move aimed at improving their visibility and accessibility to institutional investors and financial intermediaries.
The MansaX Special Fund (KES) was issued ISIN KE9930009213, while the MansaX Shariah Special Fund (KES) received ISIN KE9930009437, giving both funds unique identifiers used across global securities markets.
SIB Executive Director for Global Markets and portfolio manager of Standard Investment Trust Funds, Nahashon Mungai says the identifiers would help custodians, banks, asset managers and institutional investors identify, hold, reconcile and report their investments more efficiently.
The development comes as MansaX seeks to expand beyond individual investors to attract institutions, corporates, pension funds, family offices and international investors.
Mungai says stronger market infrastructure could help connect domestic savings to investment opportunities locally and abroad, while positioning Kenya to attract greater participation from global investors.
“By aligning our investment infrastructure with international standards, we can strengthen cross-border connectivity and position Kenya more firmly within the global investment landscape,” he said.
Mungai says the milestone supports its broader goal of deepening participation in the capital markets and widening access to diversified investment opportunities through professionally managed funds.
He says the issuance highlights the role of market infrastructure in supporting cross-border investment, as fund managers seek to align their operations with international standards and strengthen institutional participation in the financial markets in Kenya.
