MedSource Group to leverage SasaPay’s payment platform

SasaPay has entered into a deal that will see MedSource Group connect pharmacies to SasaPay’s payments platform to drive its growth in Kenya.

The MedSource Group serves up to 5 million patients annually through the over 770 subscriber community pharmacies and private healthcare enterprises countrywide. As they impact patients’ lives, the private healthcare enterprises will now leverage the SasaPay mobile money platform for a suite of financial inclusion services.

“This payments technology is specifically designed for the healthcare industry to simplify processes and reduce costs for hospitals, pharmacies, health systems providers, clinics, consultants and other players in the sector by accelerating their revenue cycle, boost customer satisfaction and collect more,” SasaPay, Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer, Daniel Njoroge said.

Two organizations have begun a phased roll-out with SasaPay enlisting MedSource as a premium healthcare provider on their platform SasaPay App.

“Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of our members to improve the management of their businesses and thereby offer more value to Kenyans seeking medical services countrywide,” said MedSource Group, Chief Executive Officer, Vinod Guptan.

MedSource aggregates healthcare business demands downstream and matches them with the upstream pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors.

The SasaPay partnership will enable MedSource unlock business opportunities through multiple seamless financial solutions in a democratized digital marketplace.

“We will help healthcare service providers under the MedSource umbrella to improve payments collection and consequently empower them to take control of their healthcare finances and simplify billing processes with contactless, digital healthcare payment solutions that integrate into their existing workflows,” Njoroge said.
