Flooding: night Madaraka Express to depart Nairobi at midnight

The departure timing for Madaraka Express night train from Nairobi has been revised from 10PM to midnight in new precautionary measures following floods in parts of Kenya.

A notice from the Kenya Railways Corporation, which manages the Madaraka Express trains, says the decision has been taken to allow passengers in Nairobi to get to the boarding station.

“We have extended the departure time in order to give passengers ample time to arrive at the Nairobi terminus,” read a notice to the public by Kenya Railways Corporation.

In recent days, heavy rains have flooded roads in Nairobi, among them Mombasa Road, disrupting movement.
