Safaricom Sacco has unveiled its new identity as Qona Sacco. The rebrand represents the evolvement of the Sacco into a robust financial institution serving diverse members from across Kenya.

Founded in 2001, Safaricom Sacco began as a savings initiative for a small group of Safaricom employees that has growth to a membership of over 18,000 and assets surpassing Kshs 11.5 billion.

The name Qona, derived from the Swahili word “kona,” meaning corner, embodies the brand’s promise: to always be “around the corner” for its members, offering support, solutions, and a sense of community. Qona Sacco seeks to walk alongside ambitious, visionary individuals, empowering them to lead meaningful lives.

Content fest 2024 sparks creativity among Kenya’s youth

As part of the rebranding celebrations, Qona Sacco hosted the ContentFest, an electrifying event held at the historic Banda Street in Nairobi. The festival attracted hundreds of young creators, influencers, and content enthusiasts who came together to celebrate creativity, collaboration, and community.

The vibrant atmosphere featured music, dance challenges, interactive content creation stations, and opportunities for attendees to express their creativity in unique and engaging ways. With 360-degree cameras, ring lights, and a carnival-like setting, the event embodied the spirit of Qona Sacco’s commitment to fostering a culture of ambition and collaboration among Kenya’s youth.
