OPPO Reno11 Pro. This was her preferred smartphone choice that she presented to the Human Resources manager. Loise Anyango had been tracking the OPPO Reno11 Pro 5G since it was announced for the Chinese market in late November 2023.
A month before, the HR department of the multinational that Anyango works with, informed staff that the company would offer to buy them a smartphone as part of their none-cash benefits.
Anyango being a techie, immediately started scouting for options. When tech blogs announced the specs of the OPPO Reno11 Pro for the Chinese market, Anyango was convinced that is what she wanted. In early January 2024, Reno11 Pro for markets outside China was announced and the key specs were similar to the model in the Chinese market. This affirmed her desire for the Reno11 Pro, dubbed ‘the portrait expert’.
Her HR had indicated that the institution was willing to buy staff mobile phones costing up to Kshs 100,000. “Since the recommended retail price of the Reno11 Pro is Kshs 85,999 and it is the phone I want, my choice for this handset was not hard to make,” Anyango says.
She tells us that a big processor of 12GB, its portrait camera prowess (powered by a 50MP wide lens, 32MP telephoto lens and an 8MP ultrawide lens), fast charging capability (0-45% in 10 minutes) and a large battery comprising 4600 mAh, were some of the specs that enticed her to the Reno11 Pro.
When asked about the camera capability of the Reno11 Pro, during the launch of the handset in Kenya, OPPO Kenya, PR Manager, Fredrique Achieng, said: “OPPO Reno11 Pro’s powerful camera system and its next-generation flagship HyperTone Imaging Engine create a perfect combination for captivating portraits, whether you’re a novice or a seasoned professional.”
Anyango says through her research, she was informed that “photos that might otherwise look washed out and uninspired when taken by other smartphones, will be bursting with details, depth and confident, inviting colors, if taken on Reno11 Pro.”
This is powered by OPPO’s flagship algorithm, HyperTone Imaging Engine, pioneered for Find X6 Pro and Find N3, which is among the features of the Reno11 Pro.
In addition, OPPO has enhanced the Reno11 Pro’s front-camera video, allowing users to shoot selfie videos (suitable to among others vlogs) in 4K supported by high resolution front and rear cameras.
The Reno11 Pro is available in two colors; Pearl White and Rock Grey. Anyango’s color choice was Rock Grey. “I believe the OPPO Glow, which is creates a soft-touch and frosted glass feel, is best highlighted by the Rock Grey variant,” she explains.
The Reno11 Pro is available at OPPO branded stores and online through OPPO Kenya website and e-commerce partners such as Jumia and Kilimall.
