Why all I&M Bank customers are winners under “Shinda Millioni” campaign

Every morning along Mirema Drive in Roysambu, a humble wooden little grocery ‘shop’ is more than just a business. It is a work station, a family table, and possible a gateway to a million-shilling dream.

The grocery is operated by Mary Kariuki. Her husband helped her start the business after years of unsuccessfully trying to secure a white-collar job.

“I never imagined I’d be running a shop after graduating with my BCom (Bachelor of Commerce),” Mary says, arranging ripe bananas alongside tomatoes. “But my husband encouraged me to capitalise on the lack of a nearby grocery to start small, instead of just sitting in the house.”

The business took root fast. Now, she makes about Ksh 800 in profit daily, all of which she saves in her I&M Bank savings account.

“I always feel very proud when I send the money. On good days I send Ksh 1,000 or more while on bad days I won’t fail to deposit at least Ksh 500. The amount is small to others, but to me, it is the world. My sweat that I’m saving for the future,” Mary says.

And now that future is brimming with more potential. Under the ongoing I&M Bank “Shinda Millioni” campaign, customers like Mary are not only growing savings, they are standing a chance to win Ksh 50,000 weekly or the monthly grand prize of Ksh 1 million.

Already, I&M Bank Kenya has awarded Ksh 1 million to the first grand draw winner.

Two more grand draw winners are expected to each pocket Ksh 1 million, this and next month.

The “Shinda Millioni” campaign is pushing for financial discipline by rallying Kenyans to embrace a savings culture. With rewards for consistent saving, I&M Bank Kenya is seeking to stimulate positive financial habits by rewarding some of those who stick to them.

Mary hopes to be one of the lucky ones to win Ksh 50,000 weekly or the other two to be crowned millionaires in the two remaining grand draws.

“Even if I don’t win, I’ve already gained. I’ve been saving and my account has been growing. That’s a prize too,” says Mary.

The “Shinda Millioni” campaign is a way of thanking customers for their financial discipline, and a reminder that consistent habits can lead to big rewards.

The I&M Bank Kenya customers making deposits to their personal accounts or the Solo Biz Account earn 1 point for every Ksh 2,000 deposited in a week or month. The more they deposit, the more points they accumulate and this increases their chance of winning during the weekly or monthly grand draws.
