What KQ – China Eastern Airlines codeshare deal means for you

Kenya Airways (KQ) has renewed a codeshare agreement with China Eastern Airlines (MU) offering Kenyan traders sourcing merchandise from China or shipping to the Asian country expanded business opportunities.

In a statement, Kenya Airways says: “Our codeshare agreement with China Eastern Airlines (MU) [reinforces] our commitment to providing seamless travel between Africa and China.”

The national carrier says the deal will offer travellers and businesses “a wider range of destinations across both continents”.

Among destinations in China that Kenyans and other African travellers will easily access under the codeshare deal include; Shanghai, Kunming, Hangzhou, and Nanjing, all operated by China Eastern Airlines.

Likewise, China Eastern Airlines’ customers now gain seamless connections through Nairobi to African cities such as Dar es Salaam, Accra, Lagos, Addis Ababa, Johannesburg, Maputo, and Mauritius, inviting them to embark on exciting new journeys.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to providing connectivity into China and seamless travel for our customers. As we strengthen ties with China Eastern Airlines, we are also contributing to the growing economic and cultural collaboration between Africa and China,” said Kenya Airways, Head of Network Planning and Alliances, Martin Gitonga.
