TikTok tips editors on features, content trends, user behaviour

TikTok removed over 132,000 videos from its platform for violating Community Guidelines or Terms of Service in Kenya during the first three months of this year.

Of these, 98.4% of violating videos were identified and removed before a user reported them while 51.3% of violating videos were identified and removed before they received any views, according to TikTok, Communications Manager for Saharan Africa, Keagile Makgoba.

Makgoba told the 6th Annual Convention of the Kenya Editors Guild at the PrideInn Paradise Hotel, in Mombasa County that the action highlighted the proactive and strict enforcement of community guidelines by TikTok in line with its vision of ensuring a safe, trustworthy, and vibrant experience for every user.

The session by TikTok aimed at assisting media professionals gain a deeper understanding of the unique platform whilst engaging the media practitioners with the insights, tools, and knowledge necessary to effectively navigate the platform while showcasing the new opportunities for media houses to share content, relay news and engage with their audiences.

TikTok officials also showcased TikTok’s features, content trends, and user behaviour to enable editors get a deeper understanding of the social media platform.
