No dividends for Bamburi Cement shareholders after profits dip

Bamburi Cement has not declared any final dividend pay-out after the manufacturer’s full year profit dipped to Ksh 74 million, down from Ksh 670 million in 2024.

Bamburi Cement’s turnover was flat at Ksh 21.9 billion which in addition to forex losses from amounting to Ksh 1.44 million on cash held from sale of Hima Cement, resulted in a 31.5% dip in operating profit to Ksh 700 million.

The firm says: “Turnover was flat compared with prior year attributed to contraction in the market demand and challenging domestic environment, heavy rains, floods and unrest during the year.”

Despite not declaring a final dividend pay-out, the cement maker says “a special dividend of Ksh 18.25 per share amounting to Ksh 6.63 billion, relating to Hima Cement disposal was paid during the year.”

On 20th December 2024, Amsons Industries (K) limited successfully completed majority acquisition of Bamburi Cement PLC.
