Moi University is reopening Friday this week after a month of closure due to a standoff with lecturers over their pay.
The university which is said to be insolvent has been facing challenges meeting its obligations including paying salaries to its employees, among them lecturers.
Higher Education and Research, Principal Secretary, Dr. Beatirce Inyangala took to social media to announce the reopening of the Eldoret based university.
“This is the schedule of activities leading to the reopening of Moi University. The State Department for Higher Education and Research will be at Moi University on Friday, November 8, 2024 to welcome the students back to the University,” posted Dr. Inyangala on her X platform.
