Minet Kenya has announced a medical cover sponsorship for the Kenya Harlequins Rugby team as part of the firm’s commitment to supporting the development and well-being of athletes in Kenya.
Speaking during the official handover event at RFUEA Ground, Minet Kenya Managing Director, Sammy Muthui affirmed Minet’s dedication to promoting gender equality and inclusivity in sports by ensuring that both the men’s and women’s teams have access to comprehensive medical care.
“We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Kenya Harlequins Rugby Team and to include the women’s team in our sponsorship,” said Muthui, adding that it was essential to provide adequate support and resources to all athletes, especially quality medical care.
Under the sponsorship agreement, both the men’s and women’s teams will receive coverage for major injuries that may require specialised treatment, ensuring that the players can focus on their performance on the field without worrying about the financial burden of medical expenses.
“We are immensely grateful to Minet Kenya for their ongoing commitment to our team. The inclusion of the women’s team in this year’s sponsorship is a testament to Minet Kenya’s dedication to promoting equality and diversity in sports. With their support, we are confident that both our men’s and women’s teams will achieve great success on and off the field,” said Victor Sudi, the Chairman of the Kenya Harlequins Rugby Club.
The partnership between Minet Kenya and the Kenya Harlequins Rugby team underscores the importance of sports insurance and collaboration between the private sector and sports organisations in nurturing talent and promoting the growth of rugby in Kenya.
Minet has over the last ten years supported the Harlequins rugby team as the team’s wellness partner through the provision of an inclusive medical cover that caters to the needs of the players in all aspects of their everyday life.
