Veteran broadcaster Leonard Mambo Mbotela who died on Friday will be buried on Saturday at the Lang’ata Cemetery in Nairobi County.
The family of the late broadcaster has confirmed the burial slated for a week after his demise.
Here are the funeral arrangements:
- Monday to Wednesday there will be funeral meetings at the All Saints Cathedral at 5:30PM
- On Tuesday there will be a fundraiser
- A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday at the All Saints Cathedral
- Burial is slated for Saturday at 10:00AM at the Lang’ata Cemetery

Mbotela died on Friday morning at a hospital in Nairobi where he had been admitted.
The 85-year-old had been in and out of hospital in recent months.
His family said ad pneumonia and low blood pressure were the cause of his death.
Mbotela is remembered by his “Jee Huu Ni Ungwana?” radio and TV program that was first broadcasted on radio in 1966 and has aired on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) platforms until this year.

His former eulogised him as a charismatic and jovial person who spread positive energy and joy to whoever he came into contact with.
He was employed by the then Voice of Kenya (VOK) that later rebranded to Kenya Broadcasting Corporation in 1964.
