Kenya’s media industry is in mourning following the death of veteran broadcaster Leonard Mambo Mbotela.
Mbotela who was aged 85, died on Friday morning while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nairobi.
The veteran broadcaster has been frail in recent months.
Until his death, Mbotela was an employee of Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC). He is renowned for hosting the Jee Hub Ni Ungwana programme that aired on radio and television.
Mbotela was married to Alice Mwikali who together had three children: Aida Mbotela, Jimmy Mbotela and George Mbotela.
