Kenya’s top female rally driver, Pauline Sheghu, has secured a Ksh 1 million sponsorship from Kenya Power ahead of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally in Naivasha slated for 12-15 March 2026.

The backing comes as Sheghu and her co-driver Linet Ayuko gear up for one of the world’s most challenging rally stages, competing against top international drivers on Kenyan soil. Sheghu, a former journalist at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) turned motorsport star and green energy champion, has become a role model for aspiring rally drivers, known for her skill and fearless approach.

“Pauline embodies resilience, passion, and determination. These are values we admire at Kenya Power, and we are proud to support her journey as she showcases Kenya globally,” said Kenya Power CEO Dr. (Eng.) Joseph Siror.

The sponsorship will cover rally preparations, technical support, and driver welfare, allowing Sheghu to focus fully on performance.

“This sponsorship is a game-changer. It gives me the confidence to focus fully on performance, knowing that my team and I have the backing to compete strongly,” she said.

Sheghu has previously claimed podium finishes in 2023, 2024, and 2025, and the 2026 WRC Safari Rally is expected to draw both international and local stars, highlighting Kenya’s rugged terrain and vibrant motorsport culture.
