Kenya Airways suspends UK-Kenya flights effective Friday

Kenya Airways PLC (KQ) Sunday announced the suspension of passenger flights between Kenya and the United Kingdom (UK) effective 9th April 2021 at 00:00 HRS GMT until further notice.

KW attributes the suspension of the flights to the directive issued by the Government of Kenya suspending all flights from the UK, effective midnight 9th April 2021.

“We sincerely apologise to all our customers for the inconvenience,” Kenya Airways said in a statement.

The airline says due to increased demand for travel to the UK before the advisory takes effect on 9th April, it has added two flights on 7th and 8th April 2021.

The carrier advised those impacted by the announcement that they may change their bookings for later travel or request a refund with all penalties waived. However, this is on condition that “all tickets must be utilised before 31st March 2022.”
