Wiper Party will now take up the role of the opposition in national politics following the decision by four Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party bigwigs to join the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Speaking at Katangi in Yatta Sub-County after launching the tarmacking of Katangi-Kithimani road, Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti said Wiper Party will stand up to defend the interests of members of the public and check any excesses by the ruling party.
“We are telling Raila that we respect his decision. As Wiper party members we contend with your choice. Kalonzo (Musyoka) supported you all those years and now we’re saying it is well,” Wavinya said.

She went on, “As Wiper party members, we believe there has to be a strong opposition to check the excesses of the executive. The opposition and the Government are like two irons that sharpen each other.”
She said the opposition plays a critical role in defending the interests of the citizens.
