A skills audit process has been rolled out in Machakos County in efforts aimed at ensuring that staff are rightly placed in roles they can optimally offer services.
Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti says the process will also help fast track promotions of county staff who had stagnated in the same job group for many years
“Part of the performance contracting is to ensure that staff who have stagnated for many years move upwards. All departments must undertake a skills audit for staff to ensure they are placed in their areas of competency for maximum output,” Wavinya said.

Noting that the county was doing well at Own Source Revenue generation, the governor said part of the revenue will be ring fenced to finance promotions and staff welfare.
