The APA Apollo Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to education by supporting Chelata Primary School students to pursue high school education. The APA Apollo Foundation has supported Patience Mwikali Mutavi and Joel Omwoha Oriedo, two students from Chelata Primary School, to pursue their full secondary education.

This support is part of the Foundation’s long-standing programme that nurtures top-performing boys and girls from primary school through secondary education, a commitment it has sustained for over 20 years.

The bursary programme has supported students from Chelata Primary School which is located in the Runda suburb of Nairobi County and draws its learners from the neighboring Githogoro community.

“We believe that the world of tomorrow can only thrive when we prioritise the education, protection, and well-being of the children of today. That belief has guided us for the last 20 years and continues to shape every life we touch,” said Grace Nganga-Macharia, Group Head of Corporate Communications & Marketing, APA Apollo Group.

Many of the beneficiaries have gone to receive university sponsorships and internship opportunities. To date, 58 students have benefited, each journey unique, yet united by a shared purpose of empowering young people to dream bigger and go further.

Through its support, at every critical stage of students’ educational journey, the APA Apollo Foundation is providing opportunities that help nurture confident and capable future leaders who will make meaningful contributions to their communities and to Kenya’s development.

This latest intervention builds on the Foundation’s recent support for Chelata Primary School when in September last year the Foundation re-roofed classrooms to improve the learning environment.

Before the new roof was installed, lessons were frequently disrupted by flooding and noise during rainy weather. With the new roof in place, students now learn in comfort throughout the year.

Education remains a key pillar of the APA Apollo Foundation’s social investment, with KSh 8 million committed to education initiatives.

As a result of this sustained investment, Chelata Primary School has recorded improved academic performance and above-average transition rates to secondary education, expanding opportunities for learners from disadvantaged backgrounds.
