Airtel to reward free airtime to mobile money customers

Airtel Money Kenya customers will be refunded their withdrawal transaction fees as airtime under a newly launched promotion targeting mobile money customers.

The campaign dubbed ‘Rudishiwa Transaction Fee Campaign’, will see Airtel Money customers who withdraw any amount between Kshs 50 and the maximum daily limit of Kshs 250,000 at any Airtel Money agent, refunded their withdrawal transaction fees.

This means an Airtel Money customer withdrawing Kshs 1,000 will get Kshs 25 as Airtime, which they can use for airtime, data bundles, or SMS.

“The new ‘Rudishiwa Transaction Fee Campaign’ cements our commitment to designing products and solutions that serve multiple payment needs of the user in the market. We believe that the campaign will go a long way to cater to the needs of Kenyans who rely on cash for their daily transactions, helping them stay connected while saving them money,” said Airtel Networks Kenya Limited, Managing Director, Ashish Malhotra.
